David's story is a classic tale of hometown kids who makes it big! A proud GISD product and graduate of South Garland High School, David earned athletic scholarships as a basketball standout, which took him to Western Texas Jr. College in Snyder Texas, and then on to the City University of New York Brooklyn College; where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. In 1999, David and his wife Michele decided to come back to Texas and build a life together. 21 years later, they are happily married with a dog named Buddy and live in Rowlett.
David is a big kid at heart and lives life to the fullest. In his spare time you might find David at the skatepark on the half-pipe, riding his Onewheel through downtown Dallas, or flying his drone.
David is a trusted resource for many civic and professional organizations in North Texas. He is a graduate of the Rowlett Citizen's Police Academy and currently serves on the Community Investment Advisory Board in Rowlett. He is active in his Homeowner Association, and at the outset of the COVID-19 lockdowns, David created the Anti-Apathy Pride Patrol: a collaboration of neighbors who organize community events that help to build and strengthen the community.
